If the directions didn't help you I can tell you how I do it: I save the image then add it as a "Picutre" under gadgets and drag it to where I want it.
Thank you all for your tips. I have tried them all and see what I am supposed to do, but it is just leaving a link no matter what, it won't leave the picture? I will keep after it. Getting old I guess!

I DID IT!! YIPPEE!! I ended up copying the picture and putting in as a picture on my sidebar. The picture didn't show up the first couple of times so it must have been a computer problem?? Thanks to you all, I love my blogger friends (and IT support:)
Renee, its a good feeling to learn something new! I used to work in IT support so you can use me as your "help desk" if you ever get stuck on anything :)
I can do lots of things on the computer, just don't ask me for a recipe I can't cook! Just ask anyone who'd tried to eat something I made :)

You can add them along your sidebar. Look under layout for your blog page.

Copy them then paste in a text gadget which as Syd says you will find in your layout page. Good luck.

I right click on the picture and do a "save as" then I go to the gadget page and add it as a picture.
